West Coast Visions Of Artist Kathryn Beals

I’m always on the lookout for art that our beautiful province has inspired and this has lead me to discover the work of Kathryn Beals. She is a globe trotting artist who draws inspiration from her backpacking trips across the globe, and luckily for us that includes BC.

I found her paintings on Etsy and I was instantly entranced by what she has been creating in her home studio. Kathryn also gives 10% of her profits to Leave No Trace which teaches people of all ages how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly, and is the most widely accepted outdoor ethics program used on public lands.

Kathryn and her husband enjoy hiking trails and the painting you see below was inspired by the West Coast Trail out on the southern tip of Vancouver Island.

I’m a huge lover of Tofino as well and quite love her vision of Chesterman Beach which is one of my favorite places on the Island. The storm season there is quite the experience and if you’ve only experienced the hot summer days, I urge you to think about a trip up Island this year.
