This Guy Paddleboards Across The Georgia Strait

“Why paddle a stand-up board from Vancouver to Victoria?” It sounds like a fairly simple question, but as this beautifully-shot short film implies, the answer is anything but. The Questions We Ask is a critically acclaimed new short which follows wilderness writer/photographer Bruce Kirkby on a 5-day-long standup paddleboard (SUP) trip across the Georgia Strait. Impressively, the entire movie was filmed by a high school student named Kalum Ko, who took a week off from his studies to document Kirkby’s adventure. Ko’s splendid visuals meld seamlessly with Kirkby’s spoken word poetry to provide us with at least a hint of an answer to that great question “Why?”
