Canada’s Biggest Yacht Built In BC

While this sea palace is not currently residing in BC, but it was built here and to this day is still Canada’s largest superyacht ever built. I never even knew about it until I caught an episode of the Travel Channel’s Extreme Yachts and this beauty was featured in the very first episode. I thought we could take a quick look at the yacht known as “Status Quo” and showcase the biggest and most luxurious vessel ever to come out of this great country.

Completed in 2010, Status Quo sits pretty at 150-feet long and 28-feet wide powered by Twin MTU’s that spit out 4,000 HP! she was designed by Ward Setzer and the interior was a joint effort between Pavlik and Richmond Yachts. Status Quo sleeps up to twelve guests in six staterooms, as well up to ten crew members to keep the guests and owner living up to its name.

It’s great to see the yacht industry growing here in BC and if you’d like to commission a new vessel that is made by the best right here in our own backyard, then get in touch with Richmond Yachts. Their website is currently pretty much void of any contact info but I did manage to dig up their phone number(604.520.1270) as well as this video of the Status Quo. It was up for sale around $30,000,000 USD and I’m not sure if it is sold still.
