This Saanich Home Is A Work Of Art

There are many fine homes on Vancouver Island but Saanich is a location that hides quite a few behind gates and long driveways. The area has a lot of coastline as well as lush green forest, which allows a lot of these luxury properties to be hidden from plain sight. I’ve driven past this home a hundred times and never knew such a masterpiece was just sitting there waiting for a new owner to call her home.

This gated waterfront home has brilliant views of the Haro Straight and was masterfully designed by the well known local architects Chris Foyd and Peter Johannknecht of Cascadia Architecture. These gents have done some of my favorite local works such as the new parklet on Fort St. as well as The Clive in Oak Bay.

With 4,900 square feet of living space on a 45,738 square foot lot this home is a shining example of modern design that the west coast is known for. The use of glass in 8407 Lochside is what I love the most even though the view from the backyard is arguably one of the best on all of the Island.

Throughout the house you’ll find luxury touches such as the Dacor gas range in the kitchen (helluva product) as well as a glass encased wine cellar with more than enough room for a large collection. There are hundreds of brilliant details I could go over but I’ll let you see the full listing over with Scott Piercy & James LeBlanc of Engel & Volkers.
