There is something so special about spending time with friends or family where you are pampered and waited on. My mom, aunt, sister and I always make a point to go to the spa together at least twice a year to unwind together. If you are still looking for a special mother’s day gift this year, consider treating your mom to a spa visit with a friend or better yet, with you! If your mom is anything like mine, they would rather spend quality time being treated at the spa with you!

When I first moved here I remember reading a post by Wandering Carol whom you see in the picture above enjoying the Willow Stream Spa, and her post started me off on a spa journey here in the capital city. Victoria is home to many fantastic spas, and here are just a few of my favorites that I think your mom would love so make sure her day is something extra special.

1. The Spa at the Delta Ocean Pointe Resort

The view from this spa is probably the very best in all of Victoria, which consistently makes this spa an award winner from year-to-year. There are some amazing spa services and packages just for you and mom! The Me and You, Spa for Two package is a fun combination of a 60 minute massage and a pedicure together. If you added in a facial or body wrap, then that is a perfect afternoon with mom! If your mom is looking for a solo adventure at the spa, consider the Aromatherapy Soak in their deep Japanese soaker tub. 2. The Parkside Spa

Like the Delta, the Parkside Spa is in an amazing location overlooking the park. The Parkside Hotel itself is incredible. They have an indoor koi pond and you feel relaxed before you even get to the spa. They offer some pretty impressive spa packages, although the only couples/doubles spa package that they outright offer is a massage together, though knowing Parkside, I can imagine that you could request a mani or pedi together too. What I love most is the body scrub treatment with either brown sugar or sea salt.

This whole body exfoliation leaves your skin extra soft and touchable. Parkside also encourages their spa customers to come as early as they like and stay for as long as they desire, which gives you lots of time to get a nice hot tub soak in. The hot tub soaking area is my favorite part of the best spas, and is the classic stop for my mom and I after spa treatment. 3. The Spa Magnolia

Touted as the best spa in Victoria for pedicures, the Spa Magnolia is a great place to relax and is dedicated to giving you a personalized luxury experience. If you aren’t sure about spa packages, start with the Spa Magnolia Signature, which hits all the highlights – a body scrub, hydrotherapy tub session, facial, and massage. Add on a pedicure following this 90 minute treatment and it is everything that you need from a spa. You can get any of their massages as couples/doubles massages, and all you need to do is let them know when you book.

4. Willow Stream Spa

Located in the heart of downtown in the Fairmont Empress, Willow Stream Spa is a must-visit for a nice relaxing afternoon. They have a spa ritual for you to enjoy before your treatment including a sauna, steam room and my favorite, the mineral bath. They suggest that this be a 20 minute experience but my mom and I could spend hours here. From May 1-31st they have an exclusive mother’s day package including a massage, facial and body treatment followed by a complimentary spa lunch! This is the ideal package for an afternoon with mom. They have an extensive spa menu which includes the ultimate caviar facial is so luxurious and relaxing and it is worth a splurge! Who’s to say that these spas are just for Mother’s day? If you are a mother-to-be, Parkside and the Spa Magnolia both offer pregnancy massages designed specially for the future mama. For your next girls day out, check out the social group package at Willow Stream which is a 60 minute massage, facial or body scrub followed by a glass of wine and an appetizer at the Bengal Lounge – yum!
