06 Feb Rare Orca Sighting Stuns Beachgoers

If you haven’t seen this amazing video already I thought I’d post it up because it’s too good not to see. I always try to convey that living in this province is a luxury and seeing Orca’s up this close is a rare experience indeed. A beach full of onlookers was surprised the other week with a pod of Orca’s who were just around to get a good belly rub on in the shallow waters.

Usually onlookers only get to see them this close in a boat, if they’re lucky enough to be around that day. Keep in mind if this happens to you I wouldn’t recommend getting in the water with them. While these lovely sea creatures are in the dolphin family they’re expert killers and I wouldn’t want those teeth chomping at my legs.
