Soirée by the Sea 2025 An Exclusive Island Gala Supporting the Nanaimo Hospital Foundation

Soirée by the Sea 2025: An Exclusive Island Gala Supporting the Nanaimo Hospital Foundation

Setting sail on June 6th, the second annual Soirée by the Sea will see guests board ferries, sailboats, and yachts to dock at the beautiful Saysutshun Island. Known previously as Newcastle Island and just 10 minutes off the coast of Nanaimo, attendees will be treated to an exclusive evening of fine food, live entertainment, and good times. And on top of all the island merriment, they’ll be raising funds to buy equipment urgently needed by the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.

Last year saw a cocktail reception, an elegant long-table dinner, live music, a full dance floor, locally sourced bites and beverages, and an unforgettable experience.

And last year saw over $200,000 raised in only nine minutes, which funded urgently needed perinatal unit beds. Besides helping mothers and babies in the area directly, it also cultivated interest and relationships to support NRGH moving forward.

Besides a fun-filled evening, guests also benefit by being stranded on an island with influential and like-minded locals who care about their community (and the finer things in life).

Soirée by the Sea is hosted by Brink Events. They worked closely with the Foundation for a year to dream up, design, and execute such a unique island-based gala last year. And the follow-up this summer is sure to top it.

Producing an event on an island does make the experience more exclusive and prestigious – But it brought along the challenge of no roads or regularly scheduled ferries, making logistics part of the event design. The inaugural event was incredible, so guests can expect the same high standard this year, with a few subtle updates.
