11 Jun Superyacht Charters in BC
Stretching all the way from the Alaska Panhandle to the top of Washington State and boasting well over 40,000 islands of various shapes and sizes, British Columbia’s coastline is over 25,000 kilometres of prime yachting territory. When you combine these ideal geographic conditions with the emergence of both Vancouver and Victoria as popular destinations for well-heeled yacht enthusiasts from around the globe, it’s little wonder that beautiful BC has become one of the world’s hottest playgrounds for luxurious superyachts.
But where, exactly, do you take your exquisite mega-yacht once you’ve chartered it? There are plenty of options. With calm waters, beautiful mountain scenery and plenty of secluded coves and islands to drop anchor at, the Strait of Georgia between mainland British Columbia and Vancouver Island offers idyllic conditions for superyachts to set sail and go exploring. Vancouver Island shields this unique waterway from the powerful winds and waves of the Pacific Ocean, making it something of an oasis in the proverbial desert of maritime instability. Further to the north, superyachts can sail to Haida Gwaii (formerly known as the Queen Charlotte Islands) to enjoy some downright majestic sights; drop anchor and head to shore to take in some truly remote and unspoiled rain forests, or explore Hecate Strait and stop by some of BC’s most charming coastal towns.
There are plenty of superyacht charters in BC that you can choose from, with your final decision ultimately depending upon the size of your party, the duration of your trip, what you’d like to do (exploring, relaxing, diving, snorkelling, jet skiing, etc.), and – of course – your budget. Once you have a good idea of what you’ll require from your superyacht as well as how much you’re willing to spend, it’s time to hit the listings and find the charter ship of your dreams. For added fun, if you’re flying in from the interior or from outside the province, consider chartering a private jet to take you to Vancouver/Victoria in true luxury style.
