The Vancouver International Airport is a Canadian hub of world travellers and those needing a quick stay can look no further than the runway. The Fairmont at the Vancouver Airport is located right along the skytrain route and has standing views of the mountains and of course the runways. Those worried about the roar of a jet engine need not be as this is the only soundproof hotel in Vancouver, so you will get a great nights rest.

Those just in for a bit will also be pleased to know there are day rooms for use, so a little luxury can go a long way between flights. If you’re there in the morning I highly recommend getting in on the buffet breakfast that is offered in the Globe@YVR Restaurant. If it’s after noon, head to the Jetside Bar and lounge where you can grab a drink while watching airplanes do their thing.
