14 Dec Vancouver Island’s Most Expensive Home
This spectacular Oak Bay home sits majestically along the harbour in one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the country. I often drive around here stopping by the various beaches and shop, but mostly to gaze at the homes in and around the historic neighborhood. For the new owner of this gem comes with 1000 feet of unobstructed ocean frontage which is quite rare to have inside the city here. On top of that this home’s design and build is nothing short of amazing so lets take a closer look.
With 15,000 square feet of living space this home boasts all the modern luxuries one could want but really, the privacy and views are what make this place so special. The home was built in 1939 and has been well treated over the years and kept up to a standard that would please any homebuyer.
The interior is as picturesque as the south facing ocean views with some of the most unique design elements I’ve ever seen. There is a prodigious amount of Travertine Marble intermixed with wood throughout this Uplands home. The exposed beams in some of the rooms really takes the cake for me as this is something that I’d like to see more of in homes here on the west coast.
While you’ll have to view the entire listing to see the almost exhausting list of features in this house, my favorite aspect is the executive office at the side of the house. This is definitely my kind of home office although the views might get a little distracting.
She is currently listed for $14,999,999 CAD with the team over at Engel & Völkers Victoria and I recommend giving our friend Scott Piercy a call at the number below if you’d like to see it in person. It’s currently the most expensive home on the entire Island as far as I could find during the time of writing. It will surely set a new record for the area when sold, and I doubt it will take long as the luxury market continues to heat up.
