3 Okanagan Wines To Enjoy This Summer

The Okanagan Valley and its surrounding areas are widely renowned for producing some of the finest wines in not only Canada, but in the world. Indeed, in recent years it has been with great pride that we’ve seen BC wines join their counterparts from France, Argentina, and California atop lists of the world’s best-tasting wines. But among Okanagan wines themselves, which of them come most highly recommended by the experts? We decided to take to Twitter and ask the fine folks at @OkanaganWinesca for their top 3 selections to enjoy this summer. Here’s what they told us:

Quails' Gate Pinot Noir

Quails’ Gate Pinot Noir

This Pinot Noir possesses a rich, rewarding flavour which evokes the finest of Old World Burgundy wines while also imbuing it with a distinctly New World touch. The best of both worlds?

Gray Monk Riesling

Gray Monk Riesling

During WineAlign’s 2013 World Wine Awards, this fruity Riesling was named as both the top Canadian wine and the top wine in the $15-25 price bracket. It’s hard to argue with accolades like that!

Elephant Island Framboise

Elephant Island Framboise

Rich tart accents helped lead this Framboise to a place on Vancouver Magazine’s Top Fortified Wines of 2013 list, which in turn propelled Naramata-based Elephant Island Orchard Wines to new heights of success.
