05 Feb Rebecca Minkoff at Violette Boutique

During another weekend walk in downtown Victoria, I spotted something unexpected in Violette Boutique‘s window, a Rebecca Minkoff, and proceeded to speed into the store to check it out. I don’t often see this brand anywhere in stores, and couldn’t help but be curious.
 

Rebecca Minkoff is a designer brand of clothing, handbags, jewelry and anything else you could imagine which is both feminine and edgy. I have had my eye on this brand for a while, and made my first purchase from her website last year – a Mini M.A.C. in Mint green (Isn’t is gorgeous!?).

I made a beeline through the jewelry cases at Violette Boutique straight to the back of the store where the purses were on display. Though there is a relatively small selection, they featured some older colours for 40% off (final price $135+tax)!! I was stuck between a gorgeous aubergine colour and this chocolatey-brown leather. I finally decided on the brown because of the versatility, something I might have forgotten about when I originally picked out my mint green. I also really like that the brown purse has gold hardware.
 

I sometimes struggle to keep my purse-load manageable (don’t we all?) and my first Mini M.A.C was my attempt at downsizing. I love this cross body purse for so many reasons, especially its shape and size. I really like the durable strap because it has weight to it and because unlike thin leather, I know that it will resist wear and tear.  The front pocket is a really secure place to store important items, and is perfectly sized for a passport when travelling. On her website, Rebecca Minkoff releases new colours almost endlessly, which makes it easy to be one of those people with five copies of the same purse, and why not when there is such an incredible variety!! The Mini M.A.C. is without a doubt the best cross-body purse that I have bought and it is something that I think all women should own at least one of!
 

Once the purse-frenzy was over I was able to look around the rest of Violette Boutiques‘s jewelry collection. The interior of the store is so clean and feminine that I can see myself making multiple visits here, and because they carry some really lovely brands. I was especially excited to know that Violette Boutique carries local products like Pyrrha talismans, which I am pining over right now, as well as international brands. There is always something in each case to catch your eye, and too many options for treating yourself.

Knowing that I can get a great deal at a local business on a Rebecca Minkoff purse, I will be purchasing from Violette Boutique rather than online next time around. I highly encourage you to give this Government Street store a pop-in next time you’re downtown because it’s a lovely addition to our city.
