Amidst the designer jewelry store options in Vancouver stands a group that aims to bring something different to the market in 2014. NÉWA Goldsmith is a boutique operation that is quietly tucked away on 8th street in Vancouver and they offer something a little more homemade here in BC.

It’s the dedication to this time-honored approach that sustains the workshop and impassions NÉWA Goldsmith (pronounced Nay-Wa) to communicate the beauty of jewellery from the perspective of its maker.

While they do have a shop with a few items ready for purchase, their custom design process is what’s drawn me in. When it comes time for me to need an engagement ring I’ve always desired doing something different and this seems to be right up my alley.

I think it would be quite a fun process sitting down with their designers and putting together something you can call your own. The process heavily involves your input including styles and materials.

What I like most about going this route is the fact you have something you family can pass on to future generations. Having that family history behind this piece is really quite special and will have a lot more than just monetary value.
