22 Jan Rocky Mountaineer’s Gold Leaf Facelift
The world famous Rocky Mountaineer Gold Leaf Service is getting a facelift over the next three years as a Montreal firm was chosen to do the job. This means all 16 bi-level domed luxury cars will become even more splendid although details are minimal at this point.
Most of the work will be accomplished in the Gaspé region in Quebec. The work will consist of full engineering and design work of various components (interior design, lighting, plumbing, installation of state of the art seating, electrical work and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems).
We’re lucky to have such an amazing journey at out fingertips here in BC and if you haven’t experienced it yet, perhaps put this on the bucket list. The Gold Leaf cars are extra special as they have the panoramic viewing domes up top which never leave you with a dull moment. To get an idea of what the current and soon to be retired Gold Leaf units are like now check out the video below.
It should come at no surprise when the likes of National Geographic, Travel + Leisure and The Lonely Planet call it one of the greatest trips of the world. Take advantage of their Stay & Play special on until February 27th which gets you up to $1,300* per couple in added value to enhance your rail experience.
