Savary Island Luxury Hideaway

Welcome To Paradise

Savary Island was a unknown place to travel here in BC as of yesterday for me, but after randomly stumbling across this place it’s now on my bucket list. The summer month’s here are heavily spent soaking up the sun on the white sandy beaches…I almost didn’t believe the pictures of this little island were real.

Savary Island floats away just 144 kilometres from Vancouver and is 0.8-1.5 km wide and 7.5 kilometres long with a permanent population of 100 people. That’s quite a bit of people for how small this island is so they must know something we don’t.

I’m hoping to bring more awareness to this Island and perhaps get more of you Vancouver people out up this way. The Gulf Islands are of course the main attraction when it comes to the summer vacation scene, but perhaps this year we can all take a look at Savary Island.

Getting here is quite easy as you can take a small ferry here without your car of course and it is recommended you pack light. For those wanting the easy way in I recommend you just book a flight and have a float plane drop you off right on the beach. This way you’re here in about twenty minutes or less and you can easily bring more luggage if you need it.

There is of course ample camping, but for those wanting a more relaxed getaway and not having to boat over tons of gear there are options. Not only that but we have luxury hospitality awaiting you on Savary Island where you can enjoy your stay without a worry.

Savary Island Accommodations

This is high on my radar for the 2014 summer season and I am dying to get those sunny warm beach days back in my life. The Savary Island Resort is the only place of this caliber in these parts and they offer a modern cabin style resort with all the luxuries you could need and want.

The resort has only been open since 2010 so you’re getting damn near new accommodations to go with your sunny beach vacation. There are all types of rooms available here and the luxury suite is equipped with all the comforts of home and perfect for those who like to cook.

The only thing I’m not sure of is if there is WiFi available although you should probably just leave the laptop at home when coming here.

I would have provided a photo but there website is still stuck in the 90’s and there’s nothing large enough to fit here. This is a smaller private experience hosted by the owners Michelle & John who provide a bespoke getaway amongst the lush forest on the island. You can enjoy a relaxing stay here all the while enjoying the company and food they provide here at the Suite & Savary.

Things To Do On Savary

The beauty of island living is that you can either do a lot or sit back with some local beer or wine and enjoy doing absolutely nothing. Those wanting to explore the outdoors however have hiking options, biking and of course kayaking. There really is no shortage of fun in the sun activities to take part in here and even make some new friends.
