13 Jan Stolen Watches Found By VicPD
What looks like a robbery of convenience turned out to be a big mistake for a couple that perhaps didn’t know the value of their bounty. A few historic pocket watches managed to elude the secure cases at the Royal BC Museum, including one owned by legendary train-robber Bill Miner.
Officers spent hours scouring information for the possible location of the watches. Late in the day yesterday CRU members were able to identify two other people of interest in the file. Through some good old-fashioned police work, the watches were located here in Victoria.
I’m glad to see these priceless items back home safe and sound at our museum here and I shall have to go take a look this at them this week…I’m long overdue for a visit. Thanks to the VicPD, the museum security and the Port Alberni authorities who all worked together to bring these items back.
