10 Mar Tsawwassen Home Gets A Modern Makeover
When I first heard that the house I grew up in was going to get a complete makeover, I wasn’t quite sure what to think. I have so many fond memories in this Tsawwassen home of family get-togethers, lazy Sunday mornings and my somewhat wayward teen years. After a couple months of renovations and my parents living in their basement with a makeshift living room and kitchen, they finally have the home they had always wanted.
While I thought my parents’ house was quite spectacular to begin with, I quickly saw what a fresh young group of talented designers, builders and decorators could do. Before I get into who is responsible for this immaculate turnaround, I think we should take a look at the “before” pictures so we all have a good idea of just how much this place has been transformed.
Before
The new plan was a complete redo of the kitchen, the flooring, the bathrooms as well as the front entrance area which included a new glass railing. My parents were looking at a two month build period, which isn’t too bad for the amount of work needed. Considering the end result, it was definitely worth the wait and they were lucky enough to be able to get by living in their basement for the duration.
The team involved couldn’t have been more talented, and I had the pleasure of meeting them all both before and after the whole transformation. These folks are all young, up-and-coming professionals from throughout the Lower Mainland and they’re going to have a bright future here in BC doing great work like this.
As for who did what, I’ll give props to Sarah Gallop Design, who has been taking the design world by storm here in BC. She’s been featured in just about every local design magazine, home show and newspaper lately and for good reason. Besides seeing what she’s done with my parents’ house, her company’s Houzz profile is itself an epic journey of modern and transitional design.
My parents didn’t have to look far outside of the family for the cabinets, as Out Of Line Designs did a stunning job on the kitchen and bathroom. As you can see from the pictures below, they certainly stand out big time among all the things done in this project and my family couldn’t be happier recommending them.
The company that put the rest together and really did an outstanding job in a remarkably quick time frame was New Vision Projects. I’ve spent a lot of time recently in luxury homes all over the province, and the work I’ve seen up close from them is seriously second-to-none. Brandon and Danny also spent some time sitting down with me going over the project and just how they operate. My family was also extremely pleased working with their company over the course of the project.
