28 Jan Gluten Free Health & Wellness Festival
While a lot of people tend to stick their nose in the air when you mention you’re not sucking down the gluten anymore that happens very little here in Victoria. While I’ve heavily adapted my eating lifestyle towards a lot less gluten and wheat I won’t ever be able to kick my need for fine beer. Regardless of that I’ll be attending the Victoria Gluten-Free Health & Wellness Festival kicking off on Saturday February 22nd.
It should be a great learning experience and I can find more local businesses in the area who can provide me with the food I look for. Dr. William Davis who wrote the book “Wheat Belly” is also doing a dinner on Friday night before the weekend starts and then a talk on the Saturday night to end off the events.
Tickets for the weekend for the Saturday are $5 online and $7 at the door, but expect to pay $30($25 advanced tickets on sale now) to hear Dr. Davis speak on Saturday night. If you’d like to learn more and grab some tickets then check out the festival’s website . I’m also pleased to see a handful of great local companies helping out with a project like this so cheers to Red Barn Markets, Origin Bakery and Pacific Rim College.
